ABOUT GLAUCOMAGlaucoma is the name given to the group of diseases in which the optic nerve is damaged. Because nerve fibres progressively die, glaucoma can go undetected for a long time, but can ultimately result in blindness – it’s the number one cause of preventable blindness in New Zealand. But that is what we’re working to prevent.
